June 13, 2014. At this exhibition, the famous German table tennis player Tim Bohr held a racket and played with a robot called "agilus". Bohr's knees were slightly bent and his upper body leaned forward, posing in a standard receiving posture. In the face of the world's top table tennis players, "agilus" was undaunted and brandished a mechanical arm to launch an attack on Bohr. After a few rounds, Bohr did not take any advantage. The robot's reaction speed and accuracy of catching the ball were amazing. The scores rose alternately. Finally, Bohr won the game with difficulty by only a few points.

According to the on-site staff, this robot is independently designed by the R & D team of xinshida. The visual recognition system adopted can accurately identify the position of the human hand. Then, the computer program estimates the possible position of the opponent in the next few steps and calculates the optimal response method. It is not easy for ordinary people to defeat it. The other two Sr18 robots nearby can simulate human hands and quickly put together the originally disordered Rubik's cube, which also attracted cheers from the audience.

The "talent show" of industrial robots at the exhibition site is amazing, but these performances are only to show the flexibility and intelligence of robots, and their actual value is still reflected in various industrial production activities. In recent years, with the rapid growth of the scale of China's manufacturing industry and the rising labor costs, industrial robots have become more and more popular among manufacturers.

Robots can replace people to do monotonous, frequent and repetitive long-time operations in industrial production, or work in dangerous and harsh environments, such as stamping, heat treatment, welding, simple assembly and other processes, and complete the handling or process operations of materials harmful to human body in the atomic energy industry and other departments. The automobile industry with an annual output of more than 20 million vehicles is the largest buyer of robots in China, accounting for 60% of the total market. Especially in the body welding and spraying workshop, most of the processes can be handed over to "diligent" and reliable robots.

According to the data released by the International Federation of robotics on June 3, China purchased 36560 industrial robots last year, surpassing Japan for the first time and becoming the world's largest industrial robot market. The purchase volume of 36560 robots increased by nearly 60% year-on-year, equivalent to one out of every five industrial robots in the world was purchased by China last year.
